This is what Droid owners really need. The phone is a battery hog and even this one needs charging daily at least, but I was charging the original in the afternoon and leaving it on USB at night.

I ordered this battery back in late February. When I first received it, I was amazed with a few things. One of which is the quality of the build, especially the back door. I have had many of extended batteries for many phones and this is the first non-OEM battery where the door they included is nearly identical in design and texture to the original and the phone. I was quite happy with that. As for performance, it was good initially then got worse.
When I first powered the battery up and did the initial charge and discharge cycle, the battery lasted at least 2 times longer than the original. this was for the first couple of discharge and charge cycles. After that, the battery life continued to drop less and less each charge/discharge cycle. Eventually, I would say after about a month of use, the battery had considerably less life than the original battery.
Another downside I found to this battery is after about a week or two of use, I found my phone started getting extremely sluggish as the battery discharged, especially under heavy use. The phone would freeze, crash, and heat up as the battery life drained. When this began happening, I initially thought it was an app or some change I had made on my phone. But I tried every conceivable change and it never negated this problem. Eventually, I swapped my battery back to the original OEM battery and I immediately had no problems like this.
I contacted RND regarding these issues and they assured me that they shouldn't happen. They even went so far as to mail me out a replacement battery at no cost to me and I didn't have to return the old one. This was outstanding customer support on their end and also provided a unique opportunity to see if these problems I had would re-occur with the new battery.
Sure enough, the same problems began happening with the replacement battery after the first few charge/discharge cycles. I have went back to using the OEM battery full time now as BOTH my RND extended batteries only last about 2 hrs during use, which is unacceptable.
While RND provided good customer service to me, I cannot recommend this product as it does not have the performance or quality I would expect from a battery that supposedly is rated at 2800mah.

This battery is a great replacement if you need a long lasting battery. I have had one since I had my Droid X and I'm still using it on my Droid X2. No problems at all. Perhaps these other reviewers never cleared their old battery stats when they switched over. This thing goes and goes and goes.
Great price too. The cover isn't an exact color match and it is noticeable, but not a big deal.
My battery cover has never slipped off, it stays right where it belongs.
